The National Center for Credibility Assessment (NCCA) is a component of the U.S. Department of Defense's Counterintelligence Security Agency. As the leading authority in the United States for credibility assessments - commonly known as polygraph examinations - NCCA sets the gold standard by providing premier training and education, program oversight, technical support, and conducting research into the science and effectiveness of polygraph testing. Additionally, NCCA offers development, testing, and evaluation services. Located at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, NCCA establishes the national standard for polygraph procedures within the federal government and plays a vital role in national security by ensuring the integrity and accuracy of polygraph testing.
NCCA is not a public or private institution open to general enrollment; rather, it serves as the official polygraph training academy for federal government agencies, including the FBI, CIA, and NSA, as well as certain branches of the U.S. Armed Forces. Participation from state and local law enforcement officers is rare and typically allowed only on a space-available, cost-reimbursable basis. Candidates eligible for NCCA's graduate-level education and rigorous 12-week curriculum must possess a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree or higher, be permanently employed by the federal government, have a positively adjudicated background investigation, and achieve a passing result on a polygraph test administered by an NCCA alumnus.
The polygraph training at NCCA is recognized as the most challenging and comprehensive in the world. Individuals in the U.S. who do not qualify for NCCA training may seek education through other institutions that strive to meet above-average standards modeled after NCCA guidelines. However, polygraph schools that are not affiliated with NCCA often face several issues and concerns:
Consequently, NCCA-trained federal examiners are regarded as the most knowledgeable and rigorously trained professionals in the field, thanks to the program’s depth, educational rigor, duration, and oversight. Why hire an examiner who has not been certified and trained by the best? Choose wisely—let us assist you with your polygraph needs.
At BLPES, our polygraph examiners utilize only computerized equipment that has been researched and approved by NCCA. We offer examinations in both English and Spanish (Se habla español).
Our mission is to deliver premier polygraph examination services administered by FBI NCCA-certified examiners using state-of-the-art NCCA-approved equipment and techniques.
During their tenure as FBI agents and supervisors, BLPES examiners have been key contributors to investigations covering counterintelligence, domestic and international terrorism, violent crimes, street gangs, drug-related offenses, and other areas under FBI jurisdiction. They have administered hundreds of polygraph examinations in support of the FBI’s hiring process, external investigations, internal affairs investigations, continuous testing of employees and contractors, and in collaboration with state and local police departments. BLPES examiners have also conducted numerous polygraph tests worldwide in support of the FBI mission, particularly in countries where a U.S. Embassy is present.
As a result, the breadth of knowledge, experience, and expertise of BLPES examiners is significantly superior to that of private, state, local, or other federal examiners available for hire.
